Follow these steps to create a basic estimate. Estimates are flexible and designed to be created quickly while giving you realtime insight into profits and costs.

Click on the ‘Estimates’ menu item in the left navigation bar

Click on the ‘New estimate’ button on the top right of the screen

Set a new estimate number

Select or create a customer

Fill out the scope of work (optional)

Add items to your estimate using the ‘Add item’ button

Note: You can click the ’…’ for additional menu items

Select a tax rate

Click ‘Apply’ to apply the tax rate

Click ‘Save’. Estimates will not be emailed to your customer automatically

See the newly created estimate details

Click ‘Edit estimate’ to make adjustments

Click ‘Download PDF’ to generate a PDF file which you can send to your customers

Other helpful tips:
- You can click on the ‘Last’ estimate number to pre-fill the estimate number input
- ‘Custom’ items are one off items you can add to your estimate. They do not get saved in your material catalog
- The profit and cost breakdown section will update as you change your materials
- The ‘Additional content’ section is an optional input where you can add information to the bottom of your estimate. You can set default content in your settings if you want the same content to be added for every new estimate
